Meditation helps my ADHD, it calms the mind and helps me to focus.
People with ADHD can meditate successfully, We struggle to communicate we struggle to understand our emotions and our emotions can rule our mind and body.
After years of suffering I was finally diagnosed with ADHD, I had always known I had it but then I to the steps to gather the courage and officially get diagnosed, and so much freedom has been found in that decision.
I have forever felt like I constantly had a blockage within me, all the years of self hate and shaming, wanting to rip something out of me, this side of me I could not understand, forever miss reading conversations, events, and people, thinking I was the one that was horrible person, selfish and calling myself a bad person. Carrying this self loathing and anger towards myself, feelings of shame constantly judging myself Carrying and carrying all that negative self emotions no one would believe me when used to I don’t understand, people calling me weird, strange etc all the names, you can think of.
Finding buddhist meditation has been the seed that has been nurtured within my heart and slowly little by little I have let go and forgiven myself….. the tears I have share with Bhaiṣajyaguru the Medicine Buddha.
Each time I meditated i would let go little bit more, meditation not only helps heal the mind but also the physical body, and yes if you have ADHD you can meditate using, mantra, mudra and visualisation.
Vajrayana meditation helps to settle the mind, calming the mind and helps to calms the body…..
I can teach you how to learn to do this, and by dedicate practice you can learn to find some peace in the chaos of life.
Everyday I meditate, some of those days my heard is racing with thoughts all over the place, with music playing in my head or intrusive thoughts, but by using the 3 wisdoms of mantra, mudra and visualisation you can start to calm everything, no it’s not easy and yes you need to put the work in but it works!
Even when my head is so busy I bring myself back time and time again to the breath and mantra, these mantras have been used for 1000's of years, and hold their own energy.
The practice of meditation has shown that the increased cortical thickness sensory processing, such as the prefrontal cortex and the right anterior insula, this attention and meditation can also affect the hippocampus, memory.
Stress, is the most toxic condition in our society today, and meditation can help reduce stress. I have found stress impacts my ADHD, I have found by anchoring into my meditation practice it has helped me through some really difficult times in my life, meditation helps build resilience and it helps me reflect where I am with my awareness making me aware of my emotional balance, thus I am able to calm everything down and my anxiety levels come down.
