During the pandemic of 2020 until March 2022
I had the wonderful opportunity to teach Vajrayana Meditation, Breath work and Mindfulness practice to the John Lewis and Waitrose partners.
In these sessions I was able to teach partners how to deal with stress and anxiety on the shop floor, me being an employee myself knew first-hand the stresses that Covid19 brought to staff on the shop floor, along with their normal work load.
We looked at breathing and meditation techniques that helped to control fear and calm the mind down and how to build resilience, we used different mantras that helped rebalance and clear and calmed the mind.
I put together a breathing, meditation programme for each department that included videos that all partners could watch at any time, this would assist with their mental health wellbeing and assist with their job role. This also included Waitrose staff, we focused on how to deal with customers on the shop floor when loading shelfs or moving trolleys/cages around the store, learning how to use their energy, and at the end of the shift they did not feel so mentally tired.
A drop in mediation class was held twice a week so all members of staff from all aspects of the business attended.
